Sanaa Lathan joins Girlfriends actor Adrian Lester in an all black play

The all black cast of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof:
James Earl Jones, Phylicia Rashaad, Adrian Lester and Sanaa Lathan

Sanaa Lathan is coming to Londont his winter to play in 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof', the award winning play written by Tenesee Williams in 1955.

She will join an all black cast including Adrian Lester, Phylicia Rashad (Cosby Show) and James Earl-Jones in a play describing the complications of family life.

All black casts are very rare in London theatres so this play is definitely worth seeing. British Adrian Lester is well-know by the UK public for his role in the BBC drama Hustle. He's also known in the US for his role as Ellis, boyfriend of Joan in US TV show Girlfriends starring Tracee Ellis Ross. There's no need to introduce Phylicia Rashad and James Earl-Jones, two confirmed Hollywood actors.

Product review: Mixa

Mixa recently launched a new range of moisturizing products with Shea Butter for dark skins.

We tried the body cream and found out that it doesn't smell as nice as the original Mixa Intensif Peaux Seches with Allantoine. However, the texture is very light, soft and silky, contrary to most intensive body creams and it really adds a little glow to your skin, like glitter.

Our verdict: the original Mixa with Allantoine wins because it's texture is as soft as the Shea Butter version and it has a great perfume on top.

Keisha Buchanan forced out of the Sugababes

Keisha Buchanan announced that she was leaving the Sugababes, the UK’s most famous girlsband, against her will.

It is said that Keisha, 24, has been accused of bullying bandmate Amelle. A statement on her Twitter reads: “I may come across as a hard nut sometimes, but I'm actually really sensitive and it destroys me to think people see me as the longest standing member and assume that I'm the b***h who causes people to walk, and it's totally untrue and unfair.”

Buchanan was the last original member still in the band. She created it 11 years ago with high school mates Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy.

She will be replaced by 21 years old Jade Ewen who reresented the UK at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow and came fifth – the UK’s highest position since 2002.

Kerastase: best product to straighten black hair

Kerastase Oleo-Relax hair mask

We tried Kerastase Oleo-Relax and can say it's by far the best range of products to treat and style coarse hair. The products were tested on a transitioning hair (a mix of natural and relaxed hair) and they really helped styling hair. It's important to say that Kerastase products are not cheap and only available at hairdressers. But they're definitely worth the investment.

Apply the hair mask on semi-dry hair, after washing. Leave it for 45 minutes (or more) and rinse. It will leave your hair feeling soft and flexible.

If you want to straighten your hair afterwards, spread a small amount of serum on your hair before blow-drying and flat ironing. Your hair will feel thicker and softer.

Inside Fashion Week with Eunice Olumide

To celebrate the beginning of fashion week next Thursday in New York, kolkolkolblog interviewed rising model Eunice Olumide, 22, from Edinburgh, Scotland. Eunice appeared in Vogue magazine and in an advertising campaign for Top Shop. As a regular fashion week participant, she gives us an insider view on the hectic days coming ahead. She also gives her talks about being a black model in today's fashion industry.

What's your classic week like?

Leading up to Fashion Week, I will have anything between six and twelve castings a day. I can also do an editorial or so a week and perhaps some catalogues. I will travel in at least four major cities in the world.

What campaign are you the most proud of?

I am particularly proud of the Top Shop campaign.

Do you work besides modelling?

Yes, on top of being a model, I do Public Relations.

What direction would you like to give to your career?

I would eventually like to become a lecturer when I am older and get involved in charitable work. But I am really happy with my career as it is today and would like to thank God and my wee mummy for helping me get this far.

Is it hard to be a black model? Do you feel that the industry is prejudiced?

Yes it is hard to be black model. In my opinion, it is not only due to a lack of understanding but also to economic factors. It is not necessarily black people who buy the clothes I present. But although chances are a lot rarer for black models, you will always shine if you are very good at the job.

What would you advise to those who want to start a career in modelling?

It is extremely had work, full time and you must work hard. Exercise is a necessity. It is also important to drink plenty of water. Most importantly, one must be realistic and bear in mind that there are many types of modelling so you may have a more commercial of lifestyle look than the specific high fashion look.

Who's the most inspiring black woman for you?

My favourite black female would be a combination of Rosa Parks and Lauryn Hill!
