The boubou, a traditional robe worn by men and women in West Africa, was ever-present at New York Fashion Week. When Gwen Stefani launched her new L.A.M.B collection, we couldn't help but notice the similarities between her outfits and African fabrics. Reality TV star Olivia Palermo also wore several afro-inspired outfits including a black dress with African embroideries. Would you take the trend on the highstreet?

Spotted: lovely young lady who masters the art of braiding. She achieved this look by braiding the sides and back of her hair in the shape of an arch. French braids are one of our favourite protective hairstyles. On top of the hair, her outfit is perfect too: a beige cardigan matching her complexion with a fine leather belt, the huge glasses and the satchel bag. She's got it all right!

Levi's launched Curve ID, a new generation of jeans created around the idea that shape matters more than size when  it comes to finding the perfect trousers. The new Curve ID range come in three shapes, Slight Curve, Demi Curve and Bold Curve. Skinny, straight and boot cuts are available.

New online shop for Zara

Zara is opening an online shop in six countries this week. From Thursday 2 September, shoppers in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Portugal and the UK will be able to find the autumn/winter collection online. In the UK, almost 10% of clothing is purchased online and Zara will compete with e-commerce giants including Asos and high street brands already established online like Uniqlo, Mango, Next or Topshop.
