During the iPhone launch, we had some hands-on and a meeting also.
Ooh, a much rumored but rarely seen Apple Store employee posting in the forums (at least while declaring your employment). I guess if you only post about things from 4 months ago, they can't get mad. :)

I haven't used it anytime recently but you can use Terminal and the cp command with (I believe) the -p option. In Terminal type "man cp" for more information. Test it one one or two files first.

A good friend of mine really wants an iPod mini, and I thought it would be nice to get her one for Christmas. Problem is that you can't get them anywhere anymore. Apple had some for a while on the refurb section of their website, but they are all gone now and the only place I have seen them is on Ebay for like $250+!:eek: I don't really want to pay that much, so I thought I would see if there was anyone here who has one is good condition that they might feel like selling? Any color is fine, although she would prefer green. Also, if anyone knows of a place where one can still buy new/refurbished iPod minis, I would be interested in hearing about that too.

Another reason Alt/Option may be "locked" is that you may have set up firmware password protection. http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1352 (It actually shows up as a lock).
If so, turn it off.

I logged into my account to verify an iTunes store purchase (why you have to confirm a purchase of a free app I will never understand) where I found someone else's account information. It's my Apple ID and email, but it is their name, address, phone, nickname, and credit card number. Has any ever seen this before? Has there been recent news about Apple's servers being compromised? Does this mean someone else is looking at my information? There's no way I will be reentering the correct information until Apple can convince me my account is secure.

That's too funny, so it is basically saying, "if apple just ceases all operations, research and development and everyone continues, they will fail." I think they are a bit smarter then that, they might as well of said, "If you stop selling your products, you wont make money."

Use your ipad as a controller for Chopper 2 on your MB lol. Sounds hella annoying and impractical.

Hi there ! I'm close on switchin' to mac, just waiting for mac mini refresh, meantime reading for macusers feedback. As i see, there is no normal audioplayer if you don't wanna use Itunes, and some issues with video files, such as mkv containers and others, flash content problems... People are forced to use unfinished enthusiast-made soft, which of course crashes and so on. I didn't hear that from mac users earlier! All they says - Mac is just work perfect in contrast with Windows PC. May be those comments about troubles are overblown !? :confused: Please, someone, tell me truth! i'm REALY still want to buy mac, but now started to doubt. i've got so limited budget, and don't want to miss.

Very simple mac is great for music if you have a lot of cds and rip them with apple lossless to iTunes.

I came to the same conclusion as Stella after reading both of those linked to stories. These sound just like bookmarklets, except you don't have to manually type in the javascript string. What am I missing? And don't tell me to google it -- I already tried.
Technically, modules are somehow similar to bookmarklets, but with more features and more flexibility. This means the modules are written in JavaScript code and they can do everything that can be done with JavaScript. Unlike bookmarklets, where the complete JavaScript code must be squeezed in one single line so that it can be used as a URL with “javascript” scheme, the modules can be nicely formatted, without any line limitation. Modules have a special header section where the module properties are defined. The properties include an icon that is displayed in the Modules panel of iCab Mobile, but also settings which do allow the user to configure the module in the iCab Mobile module settings panel.
That's from iCAB's website. Yes, technically it's third party code, but so is the javascript on any website. I don't really see the distinction. If malicious javascript can do damage through the modules then I don't see why it couldn't do it through the browser as well.
