If both your son and his gal are over 18, then yes. If you think about it, you don't really have that much say in the matter. If he wants to, he's a consenting adult. However, if you don't want him to, then just hint that you're not happy with it

@fivepoint- How about showing a little respect for the viewers of this thread and use TIMG tags on your images?
I see you still haven't had the common decency to TIMG tag your charts. As for debate with you? Why bother, it's the same thing every day with you. You just copy and paste the same things.
What is a TIMG tag, and how do you do it? Feel free to PM me if you don't want to derail this trainwreck of a thread.

But lately I've been thinking about this and what if Apple bucked the system a little. They made a phone which connected directly to your computer and you downloaded the correct carrier setting to. So if you used Verizon, all you had to do is in setup select Verizon or Sprint....Many manufacturers already do this with their unlocked phones - but they just store the settings on the phones (no need to connect to a computer).
Would the carriers care that a generic iPhone ran on their network, maybe the stupid ones, but in the long they're lives would be easier, because they wouldn't have to market the phones, just their service (which is where they really make their money).Manufacturers selling unlocked phones is common elsewhere and is now already beginning in the States.
I also like the idea of using the click wheel to make a retro style digital-rotary phone. However, I doubt Apple would just display the numbers on the screen and not on the unit. So when in dial mode, you would spin the click wheel and the numbers, displayed on the display in a circle, would highlight the number that you were on and then click the center button on the click wheel to select. This won't fly - usage is terrible and would make dialing slower than it currently is. And texting would truly suck.

I recently updated to 4.3.2, and whenever I try to apply a lockscreen theme I get this result:
http://i51.tinypic.com/28aupaf.png
The regular slide to unlock image is always there no matter which theme I choose. Is this a problem with 4.3.2? Or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

I've been following this thread while I anxiously await the new webmail too, and this morning I saw something in Future Shop's flyer that I figured the rest of the (Canadian) dotmac community would be interested in: it's on sale until the 26th for only $69.99 (Cdn). I just bought my renewal code off of eBay for $70ish US, and this is even cheaper than that! If any of you have a renewal coming up, this is a pretty incredible deal.

in the german breakdown statistics from the ADAC the Fiat Panda is the second most reliable small car only being beaten by the toyota aygo by a fraction of a percent
comparing the breakdown statistics the Panda (and the toyota) is trouncing the competition from luxury or middle class brands all the way
i somehow suspect this passat is just a counter to the us tastes of camry etc. just like that rebadged minivan or that hideous pick up truck.. but hey the americans even bought the older jettas ... which had such a bad reputation in germany that they had to rename it ... twice

I did, in fact, mean using JavaScript on page load to disable the user from changing the size of the textarea, not within my browser. It's like using CSS to disable the dotted border Firefox puts around links when they are active.
Form elements, and the divs that contain them, often need either fixed widths or have widths that are proportional to their containers.
Take Google (http://www.google.com). Depending on how the layout is set up (this is just hypothetical), resizing the search box would push those three links next to it off into oblivion if they were all in a div that was fixed or proportional to the page width. It doesn't matter if Safari "dynamically redraws the page" since the div would still be calculated to be the same. Worse yet, depending on its overflow attribute, they could be pushed onto a new line.
I'd really not like to see Safari become the next IE 5. It already has its share of JavaScript bugs. This would just mean us designers would have to spend that much more time envisioning what would happen if a user resized every form element on every page and incorporating it into our layouts. This is why I hope there's a way to disable it outright.
I hope you remember the user CSS take precedence, the user can choose a minimum font size and run an extension like nonscript to firefox so by default
no javascript would run.
The Web is based in that is the reader the one that decide how a page would look if you do not like that begin to design magazines or book.
Note: the noscript funcinality is something I would like to see added to safari.

How is this a scam? The seller CLEARLY mentioned he was selling a picture of the iPhone...
It must've been one hell of a picture to sell at that price!

how many Xserves are in that data centre? oh sorry I meant Mac minis...
Just doing the maths on how many Mac Minis it takes to get a Yottabyte of storage...
To get that much storage you would need 1,000,000,000,000 Mac Mini Servers which costed at full retail is 70x the US national debt.
Apple's 500,000 sq ft data centre usuing Doctor Q's 10 fot of usuable vertical space could hold 104,088,861 not accounting for heat dissapation cabling storage racks etc. Therefore you would need 9,607 data centres of the size of apple's current (which was rumored to cost $1billion). However that is a storage facility literally filled with no walking space between the racks or anything like that so a sensible suggestion would be to double that.
The total size of this project would be 9,607,000,000 sq ft or 344 sq miles. Turks and Caicos Islands (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turks_and_Caicos_Islands) happens to 366 sq miles, although to allow for expansion, shipping port/airport and power plants and other ancilallry buildings such as worker housing, supermarket and such I would suggest that Hong Kong with an area of 426 sq miles is a good place to start. Although given the high population of Hong Kong it isn't an ideal place to build such a facility, therefore the Faroe Islands with a size of 538 miles might be the first sensible place to wipe out. Alternatively you could just dump it in Texas/Alaska as they have plenty of land spare. Alaska would give you natural cooling which would be a bonus over Texas although can you image the series of Ice Road truckers, "In this haul is 100,000 Mac Minis."
All in all to go for something like large with some as inappropriate as a Mac Mini is a costly and ultimately bonkers idea.
Fingers crossed that the sums are correct.
