Reading through this thread, I was wondering how many people defending the iPad are actually aware of its inherent shortcomings for professional users , and have actually used programs like Photoshop .
The iPad was never meant to be used by professionals, it is not compatible with pro apps and devices on a basic level, like colour spaces, connectivity, file import/export, tethering, to name a few .
As it's been pointed out before, finger gestures are a crutch, not an enhancement, just like they were since the introduction of trackpads .
SJ called the iPad a post-PC computer - nothing could be further from the truth.
It might help to develop better input devices in the future, but right now Apple doesn't seem to be part of it, aiming their products at a retro oriented crowd which is merely asking for simplification, instead of progress.
Almost word-for-word, the exact same argument that was made by Luddites against these fancy, new-fangled mouse and GUI-based computers back in the mid-80s.

None of these are Holiday related.
Personally, I try to avoid anything Holiday-related until I am done with school. Helps me keep the focus on important exams. So in eleven days, I'll change wallpaper ;)

Two favorites:
Goldberg. Very simple. I use it for resizing images for use on webpages.
Libra. An iTunes Library manager without duplicates of your music files.
MacJournal. Yep. A journal. Lots of functions.

I originally wanted the white model, but ended up getting the black model. Once it hits the shelves, I'll look at it in store to see how it looks in person, to see if I'll want a white iPhone 5....works out well!

Yes the icons, dock are from DA in the link at the bottom of page1, the indicators are called willow from DA and check your inbox. <<or send your mail and I will drop the WP as to my knowledge the author has not yet released it.
May I have a copy of the wallpaper sent to me also? It is pretty awesome.

While not strictly free Garageband offers up a lot of podcast features ...
Also Quicktime in Snow Leopard may let you do this, not tried so far ...

Overpriced. These games are ancient and most of them don't offer much gameplay at all. Plus it cost atari essentially nothing to put this app out. If they made it $0.99 for the hundred pack then it'd be no-brainer, we'd buy it just for the nostalgia alone. I could conceivably see paying up to $4.99 for the hundred pack for the very small handful of games that are actually worth playing. But $14.99 for these junky games? No way.
p.s., I'm not saying all old games are bad, quite the contrary, there are a lot of fantastic old games that still hold up well, but the atari era of games were especially crappy.

I don't know if this was listen but i was browseing the apple downloads page and came across this (http://www.objectpark.net/)
it puts a mini ical icon in the task bar. Once clicked, a mini calender pops up and u can hover over the dates and it shows whats scheduled. I like because it shows the real date in the task bar for easy refference. Check it out

For feature films and television these days, Final Cut is ABSOLUTELY the industry standard. Oh and in the 8 years I've lived in Hollywood, I never met one person in the industry who uses a Windows PC (maybe a writer or two).

This is my first time witnessing a live Macworld. I made the switch early last year and have become more addicted since. I was hoping for an update to the Mac Pro. A price drop, Cores maybe. Some More Juiciness about Leopard. I think the iPhone is really cool! I'm not that interested tho. I'm happy for everyone that has been dreaming of one.
I found the announcement of the name change to be scary. Obviously this keynote is a good example of how they are dropping the "computer" focus on the company. Which is kinda cool in a way but scary too. Just when I start getting into this whole thing they switch focus? I hope this isn't as bad as I think it could be.
I'm voted on disappointed but I am not totally bummed. I still think it was a great keynote. And I still think Steve and Apple are "Wicked cool". I can't wait to see the video.:cool:

Sorry, but black people using the n word is no better than any other ethnicity doing it. And spare me the BS that it's part of the black culture. Any thuggish behavior and language and its glorification is deplorable, no matter the context, who or what it is directed against, and what criminal/amoral/inhumane behavior is exhibited or glorified. I would rather have seen a special event for the iPhone and let MWSF be what it "usually" is. Not that I was disappointed about the new stuff but the lack of news about Leopard and other computer related stuff made it a so-so event. Sigh.
